Even if we didn't study Physics in High School or College,
we are still aware of Laws which govern our physical existence.
However, these Laws also operate for those who aren't consciously
aware of them. Some of these Laws are: what goes up must come
down (gravity); for every action there is an equal and opposite
reaction; heat rises; and energy never changes, it only changes
form.
There are also Laws which govern our Spiritual (or Mental) existence.
We call them Universal Laws because they are true for whoever
you are, wherever you are and whenever you are. These Laws work
whether or not you are aware of their existence. This is not
too surprising since the physical is a reflection of the Spiritual.
So what is true on the physical world must, of course, be true
on the Spiritual.
There are several major Laws and many other minor Laws about
how Spirit (Mind) works. Now we are going to talk about six of
these major Laws.
The Law of Believing and Knowing says that before you can know
something to be true, you must first believe that it might be
true. You must at least keep an open mind and accept the possibility
that something might be true. Perhaps this information is new
to you and you do not yet accept it as truth. Before it can be
truth for you, you must first believe that it might be true.
Then take this information, use it, experiment with it, see if
it works, and decide if it is truth for you. This is how the
Law of Believing and Knowing works.
The Law of Abundance says that we can have whatever we want.
There is every potential for wealth in this world that everyone
could have all that he desires a thousand times over and there
would still be more for any who might claim it. In having what
we want, we are not taking from anyone else. It is up to them
to claim their own wealth. The most difficult part of practicing
this Law to realize that whatever we want is already ours, we
have but to claim it and let ourselves receive what is ours to
possess.
The Law of Giving and Receiving states that we will receive what
we give to others, in abundance! All nature abhors a vacuum and
nature will quickly act to fill it when it occurs. When we give
love, money, friendship to another we create a vacuum in ourselves
which will be filled in like kind. However, this comes back to
us from the Universe, not necessarily from the person to whom
we gave. It is good to give anonymously and unconditionally so
that some of our reward does not come back to us as gratitude.
Give and expect to receive back. Remember, for every giver,
there has to be a receiver. So if it is Divine to give, likewise
it is Divine to receive.
The Law of Attraction simply says that like energies attract.
If you keep pleasant thoughts in your mind, then you will attract
pleasant situations in your life. If you are a loving person
then you will attract love. If you give freely of your money,
then you will attract even more money. If you desire anything
you will attract it to you.
The Law of Expectation states that you get what you expect. If
you expect good things to happen to you, they will. When I was
younger I used to wonder who was right; the optimist or the pessimist,
for they both seemed to get what they expected. Voila! Now I
know that they are both right. This is how Hypnotism works.
Expectations are placed in the Subconscious Mind, and these expectations
are, then, realized. Even now you can program your Subconscious
Mind to expect what you want. Keep your attitudes and thoughts
pleasant and focused on what you want to have and expect these
things to come to you.
The Law of Cause and Effect is a complex Law that states simply
that for every cause you initiate there is an effect. Everything
we do acts on others, and also comes back to us. The quality
of energy of what we do comes back to us. If we give out a loving
energy, love will come back to us. If we produce shoddy workmanship,
then things we buy will tend to be poorly made. Everything we
do or say to others has an effect on them. This is similar to
one cue ball striking another. This can cause a chain reaction,
so take care what causes you initiate. The Golden Rule says,
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you (because,
in fact, they will.) This is the Law of Cause and Effect: whatever
we do to others will be done to us. The Law of Karma comes into
play when the effect of what we do comes to us in a subsequent
lifetime. We truly reap what we sow. This Law was created for
our learning and growth. We need to understand what it is like
to be on the other sides of our actions. So, at some future time,
either in this lifetime or in a future lifetime, we will have
happen to us what we cause to happen to another.
One last word I want to mention is Attitude. I want you to think
about how your attitude affects you and your use of each of these
Laws.
